Here are Veronica’s tips on bringing your look together with all things accessories:

As a clothing and accessories stylist for more than 20 years, I hear many women say things like, “I feel like I have nothing to wear” or “I don’t have time to pick out the perfect look.” These women also want to know what essentials one should have in their wardrobe.

Maybe you’ve had the exact same questions running through your mind.

My job is to help women look and feel their best with a wardrobe that suits their lifestyle while also being a reflection of their personal style.

I am lucky to work with women all over the world everyday from all different walks of life.

I have a variety of things I suggest to all clients including closet must-haves like the little black dress, a great pair of jeans and a blazer (which probably does not come as a surprise). I also suggest using an amazing rental company like Armoire to prevent wardrobe burnout and to help busy professional women save time and money.

In addition to a versatile wardrobe with staple pieces, a great jewelry box and accessories collection is essential.

Accessories are the secret that will help you bring your look together, and they can easily help you create different looks while wearing the same clothing items. Here are my top three tips to help you elevate your look no matter where you’re going or what you’re doing…and it truly is as simple as A,B,C!

A—Accessories are always the answer

They always fit and put the personal stamp on your personal style to set you apart from the rest. Like Michael Kors said, “Accessories are the exclamation point to your outfit.” Even if you only have a few key pieces rented or hanging in your closet, work from home or travel everyday of the year, great accessories are not secondary—they are essential to completing your look. Accessories are also more than adornment. Great accessories are beautifully practical!

For example, a silk scarf can add a pop of color to your look, but it can also shield your hair from the wind. A great handbag holds all of our belongings from our credit cards and toiletries to our daily planner or tablet. A great brooch adorns our lapel, but it can also be used to close our pashmina, decorate a clutch or be worn in our hair. Never underestimate the power of great accessories! They are the solution to many practical and style problems women have.

B—Better together

Some things are just better together, and perfectly layered accessories achieve a look that not only turns heads, but also helps a woman feel confident and at her best. The most common accessories include jewelry, scarves, shoes and handbags. Many of us think of stylish women in the past and remember matching shoes and handbags or all the matching pieces in a set of jewelry. While maybe matching accessories are not en vogue, completing a look with complementary pieces is one of the most powerful ways a woman can create a stylish and sophisticated look.

C—Curated, collected and comfortable

As a stylist, a curated collection of accessories maximizes your look and achieves distinction. As a busy professional woman, I turned to accessories because I could change my look within five seconds just by changing my jewelry.

My company, Vintage Meet Modern, was born while working with styling clients who were searching for unique pieces they could not find anywhere else and past clients who were looking to downsize their collections. It became a unique full circle approach focused on women and their style journey. With so many different styles available, a few fun pieces mixed with some classics is similar to an art collection or library of your favorite books. It’s full of finds you love that you have picked up along the way, received as gifts, picked up something to commemorate a special moment or acquired simply because you fell in love with it and it spoke to you. The best part about intentionally adding accessories to your look is that they always fit! I love to remind women that we all go through periods where we feel like “nothing fits” which is why jewelry and accessories are so important. 99% of the time they will fit you comfortably.

What we wear is more than function—it is fashion and personal style down to the core, which is why women who are leaders, innovators, implementers and visionaries should embrace the power of great jewelry and accessories in their life. While these small details may feel tiny in comparison to the clothes we put on, they can have the greatest impact on our personal style. Never underestimate that life and great style is celebrated and reflected in the details!
