Styling Choices with Armoire

Ambika Singh Everything, Styling Tips

Unlimited clothing rentals for a month instantly caught my attention and I had to learn more. I couldn’t pass up the chance to wear and swap new looks for all the upcoming events I had. As I went through the site, I knew that In order to really understand Armoire, I had to experience it for myself.

Fashion is an art, a way to express yourself, to show up with confidence. The right outfit can really make you feel like a million bucks. As a personal shopper, I’m out there every day finding the right styles, brands, and colors to fit my clients’ lifestyle and body type. I’m always in search of new brands and concepts that make the shopping experience easy and accessible for both my client and myself, because you know we already have a never-ending to do list!

Armoire has been such a fun tool to work with and I’ve discovered how it fits into different parts of my clients’ lives, through my own hands-on experience.

My Personal Style

As a personal stylist, my wardrobe consists of workwear that is functional because I’m crawling through clients closets, I shop for up to 4 hours at a time, and I need to be able to carry a lot of clothing in my arms. Don’t let that function part fool you because my style is also very feminine and consists mainly of dresses, skirts, and lots of color.

Two to four evenings a week I love to really dress up for the events I attend, it’s my only time to get all fancy and take out the most beautiful pieces from my closet. There are always pictures being taken so I prefer to be able to have a wide range of options to choose from so I’m not wearing the same pieces consistently.

How to Best Use Armoire

With Armoire I found a good mix of both everyday kind of functional yet stylish options and really elaborate beautiful pieces too, The best ways I feel like the services could be used would be if you have speaking engagements, client meetings, for your everyday life, and for networking.

Was a sponsor for the Seattle Business Babes event in April and felt like a star in this Rachel Zoe lace dress From Armoire. I styled it with a belt for an extra something.

1. Speaking Engagements

When you’re on stage, you want an outfit that really pops, yet makes you feel confident as you present. The look should match your personality, fit your body well, and fit your comfort level. Trust me, wearing the cutest pair of heels in a really tight dress is not going to help you deliver your message. Make sure you choose a few options to try on.

Wore this outfit for two different meetings I loved the feel of the light weight silk bomber jacket by Nicole Miller which I paired with a Tahari dress, both from Armoire

2. Client Meetings

There’s nothing better than wearing a new piece for a client meeting. It gives you this fresh feeling of opportunity. Taking the time to plan your outfit will give you the focus you need to be in front of your client, the wrong outfit will have you thinking about yourself and how you should have worn something different. Planning your outfit ahead of time also gives you a sense of security that you’ve got one thing checked off your to-do list, give yourself that peace of mind.

3. Everyday Life

As you scroll through the suggestions on the website, you may find casual pieces you didn’t necessary need but it just seems like fun to try out. Initially when I signed up for the services I was thinking I’d use it for more statement pieces but when the jeans showed up, I felt like ordering them, and let me mention, I’m not a jean person. Surprisingly I wore them quite a few times before swapping them out again. If you happen to rent a really item, you can keep it instead of swapping it out! The beauty of rental is that you get the chance to try something new, if you end up wearing it over and over again, just buy it.

Went networking and made new friends at Six Seven in my Zeraffa statement coat and rolled up Seven for All Mankind Jeans both by Armoire.

4. Networking

If you go to a lot of networking events, you can plan your orders and outfits for each event. Mix and match your own clothing with what you rent to create complete looks. Currently, they don’t rent out accessories, but definitely use your own to change up the look and make it look more like you. Don’t forget that you can even try new trends and styles you wouldn’t normally purchase, get a statement piece that could be a conversation starter.
