Who they are: FRANKIE4 is an Australian footwear brand founded in 2010 by podiatrists Caroline and Alan McCulloch. The company aims to revolutionize women’s footwear by combining style with podiatrist-designed support, offering solutions that prioritize both aesthetics and foot health.
Why we love them: style that’s actually comfortable too! Central to FRANKIE4’s offerings is their proprietary Sole Hero® Footbed, a podiatrist-designed insole engineered to provide optimal arch support, heel cradling, and cushioning. This footbed is integrated into all their footwear, including sandals and heels, to promote better alignment and reduce pressure points. Furthermore, 100% of net profits from all FRANKIE4 sock sales are donated to the Brainchild Foundation, an Australian charity supporting families of children with brain and spinal cord tumors.
Quality standard: FRANKIE4’s footwear is manufactured in Vietnam and Brazil, partnering with factories renowned for their quality and responsible practices. These suppliers undergo annual audits assessing labor standards, health and safety, environmental performance, and ethical conduct. Workers are compensated above the local living wage, and the factories comply with local labor laws regarding salaries, social benefits, working hours, conditions, and insurance. The brand was established as a result of CHEVAL’s personal reinvention following legal challenges that restricted her from using her birth name in business. Embracing this transformation, she launched She Is Cheval to offer distinctive, comfortable, and attainable designer shoes. Overall, She Is Cheval stands as a testament to resilience and creativity, offering unique, artistically designed footwear that empowers individuals to express their personal style confidently.

Who they are: Chalo is a homegrown cowboy boot brand founded by Mitali Gupta. The brand works with their family owned tannery-factory—based in Kanpur, India, and started by Mitali’s father in the 90s—that has been making cowboy boots for over 25 years. Chalo combines traditional cowboy boot designs with a modern touch so that they can be more versatile in form and function, fit for the daily life of many women, across many communities. Tanning its own leather to ensure quality and versatility, a core aspect of cowboy craft, the factory also supports Chalo’s small batch production values.
Why we love them: Chalo products are built to last. Made with the finest leathers that age beautifully with time, each pair is crafted with time-honored techniques to be worn, lived in, and even passed down. The name “Chalo” (pronounced “chuh-loh”) means “let’s go” in Hindi, capturing the spirit of movement and exploration. Designed for both comfort and longevity, Chalo is redefining cowboy boots as timeless staples meant to go the distance. Finally, cowboy boots that feel as good as they look!

The small batch production avoids overproduction, and discarded pieces from the making process are repurposed to make other products. Where possible, they utilize solar energy for their production needs, and air and sun dry their leathers to reduce machine and chemical use.
Quality standard: Chalo’s unique approach to craftsmanship is rooted in its family-owned environment. “Being small and homegrown allows us to stay connected to every detail,” says Gupta, “It’s what gives this work meaning, rooted in responsibility and community, right here at home.”
