Here’s Armoire work from home mom Berea Schaffer with 5 tips on how to work from home with kids.

1. Collaborate on Creating Their Schedule

Berea says, “If your kid is old enough, have them participate in creating their own schedule. My son set 30 minutes for reading, 30 minutes for math, 30 minutes for recess…etc. Creating his own schedule made him more willing to enjoy doing the activities.”

2. Activities, Activities, Activities

Workbooks are great for screen-free activities that can keep your little ones entertained for hours while you work. Plus, it’s super easy to work from home at your kitchen table while your kiddos color away.

5. Be Okay with Additional Screen Time

As working women, we know the feeling when our big meeting starts in 5 and our toddler won’t stop screaming. “Don’t feel like a bad parent if you have to resort to screen time. This too will pass,” says Berea.

It’s important to have a conversation with your significant other so you both can get on the same page about the amount of time. It’s also important to have an understanding with your kids that they’ll need to balance out screen time with other activities. As Berea mentioned, this too will pass so give yourself credit for managing the chaos the best you can.
